FRESCO # 1

                                Michelangelo said (roughly)....."Oil painting is for women and old men.  Fresco is the good shit".   

     When I read this my initial thought was "Jeez, Michelangelo was a real dick."   But after thinking it over I suppose that if anyone could get away with saying pompous statements about other people's art (or whole medium!) then I suppose he had the credentials to do that.   So I decided to give it try and see what he meant.

      This was not an easy task.  Borderline Prehistoric art techniques aren't a common skill,  it's not like I could go to the hardware store and ask stupid questions (I did...it was useless).  By trudging through the internet and Local Library I gathered as much good information as I could.  I made contact with the Fresco School in California for supplies.  They have educational material, but it was not in the budget to take the classes or buy the videos they offer, so I bought the supplies and set out to figure it out on my own.  Here is my hard lessons in pictures....click the picture to see more and read the lessons learned.
